Imagine Robin Hood without his bow and arrow, Paul Bunyon without his axe, and a musician without his guitars and equipment.
On Tuesday August 15th someone stole the following equipment from Johnnie Dee front man for Honeymoom Suite
People need to do the decent thing and return his musical equipment, he needs these tools to do his job .
Honeymoon Suite musical equipment stolen out of a vehicle from the Ft. Erie area last night that includes the following:
Black Squire Telecaster
Black Fender Telecaster
2 - Shure GLXD guitar wireless systems
1- Line 6 guitar wireless system
1- Line 6 M3 Stompbox
1- Boss ME-50 pedal board
And, many cables and accessories, etc...
All the suit cases are labeled HMS and have bright orange tape on them. The guitars have Johnnie Dee's phone # and name on them.
We believe this was a targeted theft and somebody knows something. Please keep your eyes and ears open and let us see/hear anything. We greatly appreciate it!

The Tenacity of the HMSLounge
Hello everyone ,I know its been awhile since I written a blog, so here goes nothing.
Sometimes loyalty and trust are truly wasted on the wrong person,Its a hard pill to swallow when people just don't have the same respect towards others that you do , and you come to realize you need to back away from them.
When people do not take responsibility for the offence they cause ,they place the blame on someone else and make them feel like shit . Despite the fact even though they were told over and over again there is a line you just don't cross and yet she did it anyway and refused to remove her comments and apologize to those she'd pissed off.
Because of her nasty behavior we got it in the neck for something someone else did I was the bigger person and apologized because that's what decent people do.
Two months ago events beyond our control took place, people over stepped boundaries and bare faced lied to us so we had no choice and we've cut ties with that person.

When you run a group like we do, and you support an actor or a band , you have to take responsibility for those actions of the people in your group that caused offense.
If you do run the group or groups as it were you have to realize that because that person acts like they speak for you but they really don't and wind up causing trouble that you sure as hell don't need.
If you do run the group or groups as it were you have to realize that because that person acts like they speak for you but they really don't and wind up causing trouble that you sure as hell don't need.
The crooks of it is when this kind of shit happens , the people who they offended don't know this, and your groups reputation has been put on the firing line and that what it boils down to.
Standing your ground , removing the offending party was the best thing we could have done, although we felt maligned and smarted, we bounced back and we're still surviving.
You see there is something to be said for people who walk through the fire of a shit storm and still have the balls to support those they respect even though certain people's jealousies and nasty spirits try and ruin a good thing.
Having said that, we're like the phoenix from the ashes, we are rising again no one is going stop us from doing what we love to do and that is support HMS.
This blog isn't about rehashing the bull shit that transpired, but rather a wake up call to anyone who runs a group.
You have to have the staying power , choosing those you support over the bad eggs who think they can bully and push their way in trying to take over when you already had a great thing.
You have to have the staying power , choosing those you support over the bad eggs who think they can bully and push their way in trying to take over when you already had a great thing.
You have to have strength , wisdom and the foresight to say you know what, you ain't gonna break us and that's why the determination of the HMSLounge is stronger than ever , we will keep supporting the band .
I took a 2 month break from the lounge , to regroup to rethink things, get ready for my overseas trip, and this message is for anyone who tries this crap with me again no matter what happens no matter who tries to throw a spanner in the works, we've felt rejuvenated, and galvanized that we know that what ever crap is thrown at us we will survive it.
We've got new projects on the back burner ready to get done , yes you heard that right!
Never again will this kind of disrespect , of me or my group , or the band happen again!
One things for sure never underestimate, and never question the loyalty and tenacity of the HMSLounge. Our loyalty is towards the band first and foremost , not control freaks with a chip on their shoulders. Our pride will always remain intact like an old stone building that's been standing on its on in a field for years. You can try to knock us down, but we've stayed strong and we've withstood the storm.

How Suite It Is ...... 33 Years of kick ass tunes
On June 15th 2017 it will mark the 33rd Anniversary of one of Canada's most kick ass power house rock bands to come out of Southern Ontario and that band is none other than Honeymoon Suite.
When I think back to those shows, I remember being on cloud 9 and not being able to find my way back down, kinda like their song Dreamland suggests.
Their music , has made us dance our asses off, made our pulses race a little faster , and definitely has made a lasting impression on all of their fans.
We have so many memories it would be hard to choose what stands out the most in our minds although my fave memories stem from much more than going to see 8 of their shows in 1988, 1992, 1993, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005 respectfully.
When I think back to those shows, I remember being on cloud 9 and not being able to find my way back down, kinda like their song Dreamland suggests.
These memories play like an old movie in my head as I'm sure it does with all of us who have been to their shows and had a hell of a good time
As I've said before my memories go way beyond the shows, watching the videos and for alot of us fans we can say we actually had our dreams come true and either got to meet them officially or we got to play with them on stage.
What I'm most proud of is the fact for 15 years I have been the owner of a group dedicated to Honeymoon Suite by the fans for the fans. And not excluding the few years I've taken a break from the lounge I've been
a loyal fan of the band for 33 years

Ah I remember watching them on the Juno's back in 84 and 86 and I remember them winning the Juno award for group of the year in 86.
But most of all I remember being that silly little girl who danced around the living room acting a fool, but that silly little girl, is now a grown assed woman and I'm proud to say as the head of the hmslounge team at the facebook group, we are proud to be Honeymoon Suite fans.
With their new album just released last month,we're all fired up and raring to go.
We've had some bs happen the last couple of months, but we never let anyone or anything stop us from doing what we love and that is supporting the band.
We are like warrior princesses on the warpath via our projects and our blog posts we just know " How Suite it is to be an HMS fan ".
They have been brilliantly entertaining the fans with 33 years of kick ass tunes and we the fans enjoy every single moment of it .....

A Passion That Burns So Bright
For me June 1984 was the beginning of a journey that has carried on for 33 years .
Little did I know then while I laying on the carpet hands under my chin watching the Chum 30 Count down and heard the first note of New Girl Now for the first time that HMS would become the band whose music I not only love, but these were guys I would grow to respect.
I remember meeting the band at the Oakville Place Mall at 15 ,getting their autographs and being so shy when I actually got up there that I didn't say a word. LOL yea I was actually quiet that day I know you're all shocked.
I've been to quite a few shows over the years, the first one being at Kingswood Music theatre at Canada's Wonderland.
The second I will remember as much as the one in 2002, cause that was the show that I went to with friends ditching school, and hanging out at Ontario place before the show itself.
That day we came across Johnnie Dee before the show and chatted with him a bit, then went and watched the sound check that day.
I remember having so much fun at that show that me and my friends sang HMS songs on the way home on the go train. I suppose people on that train thought we were crazy kids cause some shook their heads at us and we didn't care.
I've enjoyed every single bit of it as I think we all have, as I said before in 2002 I decided to put together the hmslounge in support of the band over on Mirc.
And yes as I said before I met Johnnie and Derry and spoke to them on the phone, interviewing them for the old webpage I had.
It wasn't a fun and games kind of thing a fan just talking to the band it was a fan who actually had a purpose to support the band she grew up listening to and asking some questions that new fans wanted me to ask them and it was arranged by their road manager at the time.
It was a pile of fun and a memory or two to last a life time especially when I went to the Hard Ball Cafe in Milton, Ontario on November 30th 2002.
I remember seeing them all walking around the place and then watching the show and when I eventually got backstage to meet them, I was so nervous but I don't think it showed.
Often people ask me why I do the things I do, and I'll tell you why its to give back to those people who share their talent with you.
People who sing their asses off, play their hearts out on the instruments they play and they do an amazing job doing it too.
When you support a band or an actor and have the balls to set up a page , some people think, wow she's really into this or that and sometimes people don't get it .
I've had people ask the loaded questions that you think are so far off the mark that you wind up thinking are you fucking kidding me and you shake your head and walk away.
They say always do what you love to do and run with it, its a passion that burns so bright that you don't care what anyone else thinks and you do it the way you see fit
When you run a fan group, it takes a lot of blood sweat and tears, to set things up and work on projects and share them with the masses, some people seem to think that fanst who run a fan group just discuss the music, shows but there is so much more to it than that.
After some crazy moments with the original group , things that made my skin crawl.
Frankly I don't care to get into the ins and out and the gossip, cause I choose not to revisit it, but I can tell you it was enough for me to want to take a break.
In my time away I learned some pretty awesome computer skills , video editing among other things. Armed with these skills I have come to be called a creative genius by my friends.
Some people will love what you do and others will laugh and say you're crazy for even bothering.
Being the one with the fan page has its ups and it has its down sides, some really cool fans came into that chatroom and some that I said what the fuck about.
As with anything in life and I can tell you no matter what curve balls get thrown at you you have to keep doing what you want to do.
In 2015 I was inspired to reignite the flame and get the lounge started on Facebook with the help of my friends who are some pretty cool chicks I might add.
We've created video projects with the bands music, and done some other cool things too.
I'm a very down to earth chick, who by the way has her moments of craziness, I second guess myself, and yea sometimes you may think what the hell when I voice my opinion about something.
I'm a strong willed little madam , but if I don't think something is right I become like Joan of Arc, and say you know what screw this, and I jump for things with both feet with my eyes wide open.
Some say its not a good thing cause you might get burned in the end but I don't think so in this case
If I learned anything from my family ,my friends and the band doing the job I do its to stick to my guns, trust my gut instincts and always follow your heart and your dreams .
I have also learned that you have to find that light inside of you a passion that burns so bright after all you have to do what you love, and support those who've got the fire in their belly to do something they love too.
And most importantly guys , the hmslounge would not have come into fruition if the band did not exist.
That's why I need to say thank you to them for their amazing talent, for their respect and most of all for being the nicest most down to earth, coolest guys I've ever met.

Honeymoon Suite - Rockin in your town this Summer
Music resonates through our four walls all winter long, as we all know as music fans and the bands we support, we all long for those summer shows that we either attend or play at.
Its something we as fans all look forward to and totally enjoy being a part of
Its something we as fans all look forward to and totally enjoy being a part of
Once we arrive and watch from our seats whether its sitting on the grass or in the stands and the band arrives on stage to give us one hell of a show, without a shadow of a doubt we anticipate what's to come next.
The hypnotic sound of the guitar riffs fill the summer air , and the melodic vocals and harmony's are what get us singing along and our toes tapping to the wicked drum beats.

The sweet sounds of the keyboards are what send us on a journey all on its own to and we don't every want to find our way back again
Once you hear the first chord of one of the bands many classic tunes you feel a sense of familiarity and sweet memories of where you were and what you were doing the first time you heard them come flooding back.

And if you're a new fan you begin to see what the long time fans are raving about, a power house band whose music means so much to us long time fans.
Its brought us hope, sometimes brought us to tears, put us in the party mood and made us dance our asses off.

Honeymoon Suite's Music in Movies and tv

Movies and television bring the magic of make believe,
angst, and hard core kick ass action and humor right before our very eyes, but without the music to express those feelings
the scenes would be pretty boring in my opinion
For those who are not aware Honeymoon Suite's music has appeared in 9 movies and television shows in total.
In 1986 HMS performed the song Those were the days which appeared on the Wraith Soundtrack for that film which stars Charlie Sheen. The song was written by Ray Coburn ( former Keyboard Player for HMS ).
Miami Vice which was a hot show in the 80's featured three Honeymoon Suite Songs on their show New Girl Now, Bad Attitude and Feel it Again. Absolutely brilliant choices for the show and it made the final episode pop like no body's business.
The feature film One Crazy Summer also featured the band's song What does it take from the bands Big Prize album. The track appeared in a scene where there was an explosion.

In March 1987 the Lethal Weapon Franchise started off with a bang, and quickly became one of my personal favourites through out the years. Honeymoon Suite was chosen to perform the title track Lethal Weapon for the film which was written by Michael Kamen
Its a track that screams out every emotion felt in the scenes and is a song that is requested to be played when the band does shows.
New Girl Now was also featured on the show Bones in 2006 in the episode " Woman In Limbo" and in the movie Gutter balls.
The movie The Behaviour Of Houses was released in 2007 and it featured the bands track Into Me Into you from their 5th Studio Album Lemon Tongue .
And finally in 2010 New Girl now was also featured in the Kids in the Hall Mini Series when Death Came To Town in the first episode called The Stages Of Grief
Also in 2010 Honeymoon Suite's song Wounded another track from the Big Prize Album was featured in the TV Show The Good Guys.
In the set up of the scene so people get a visual Detective Jack Bales is held at gun point and his partner comes in to rescue him and that's when HMS' song Wounded cranks into high gear.
Wounded was written by Lead singer Johnnie Dee and has always been one of my favourite songs to listen to.
And there you have it folks , a little bit of movie magic and kick ass tunes performed by Canada's own Honeymoon Suite makes for some pretty good listening pleasure

Inspiration comes from everywhere
In life they say people, places and things, but especially music most of all can touch your soul and gives you food for thought on a whole other level all together.
So when Honeymoon Suite came out with the song How Long in the 90's and I heard it for the first time it me sent shivers down my spine.
Even years later that song in particular made me a sit up and take notice .
When I visited the UK in 2007 and heard the flood updates it reminds me of the fear and the panic I'm sure everyone felt and how long is the one song that jumps into my head whenever I remember hearing the news reports.
Often people are affected by the songs they hear , because it brings back floods of memories of certain situations, love, loss and inner strength within you to fight for your own survival and those you love and also help one another out in a crisis.
As human beings we need to reach out, and help those in need, it not only lifts the human spirit and not think of ourselves, and to me that's what the song represents .
I honestly believe, that not only time heals wounds, but music has a healing power that can make you see that with a little bit of hope, and it makes you see there is always light at the end of the tunnel when you think everything is not going your way.
It may not change the world, but I can make someone's day a whole lot brighter

An Eye Opener Of Epic Proportion
I once heard someone say; that once you meet those
you admire, you can often become disappointed and disillusioned because they are not how you imagined they would be
I have to say,
that for me it was not the case. Sometimes those people become more like a mentor,
they can open your eyes to a whole new
world, filled with hard work, and dedication. Those rose coloured glasses, you
know the ones, we paint a picture of a fan, goofy
smile and all are wiped away, and a sense of contentment in knowing you're doing
something right takes over
I think if I learned anything
from Johnnie, Derry , Dave, Gary and Peter is
that they are five down to earth, talented, funny guys who just happen to be in a band.
With social media being so popular, I have learned that being in their shoes as
well as countless others is sometimes
not a journey they care to be on especially when people don't get them or
really listen to what they have to say.
I never expected to meet any of
the band members from Honeymoon Suite, but I did get to meet both Johnnie Dee and Derry
Grehan in 2002... It starts with me (Christine) setting up the hmslounge on
MIRC. There was a website that went along with the lounge.
When I spoke to both Johnnie and
Derry , over the phone twice, in 02 and '03. I
know what you're thinking....She's just saying that to brag,
but no. It's to give you an idea of what I know about them, and the band in
general.
While I gained knowledge, from
those conversations we had. It gave me more of an understanding of who they
are,and what they go through on a daily basis.
Upon meeting them, I instantly felt welcomed
and received, into their world. The respect is shared, truly and honestly, but at the same
time to gain that respect, you must show them, the same kindness. It makes a huge difference, and
means so much to them.
After meeting the boys (Johnnie
and Derry ), who were and are still my focus,
along with the rest of HMS, I was told that I was a classy little lady.
This past year, the admins and members in general, have been putting projects together that are hms themed. We hope that as you all check out our posts,in various formats, that you are truly happy with, and appreciate the effort and work we put into it.

With the insight
I have gained over the years I know that I have learned a great deal
from the guys in the band.
I hope they know that we appreciate them as individuals, and as the band we all grew up
I hope they know that we appreciate them as individuals, and as the band we all grew up
listening to.
As fans we love going on their
band page on facebook, which is excellent, for those fans who truly care, not
just about "the band", but
about the men behind the music, sometimes people don't see things from others point of view and things get
lost in translation.
For example respect what they have to say and
what it may have taken for them to post the update, and comment. It's supposed to be
fun, not stressful. Try walking in their shoes, if you don't see an update, a reply to your messages, don't panic. They
are a very busy group, have patience and tact.
Let them get back to you. Don't
go posting on their page, and act like a jackass, by saying
something you can't take back.
Remember they are people too,
and have the same feelings.
Some don't like posting very much not out of disrespect to their fans or friends..
Some don't like posting very much not out of disrespect to their fans or friends..
They just don't. Take the rose coloured glasses off, and walk a mile in their shoes.
Pay them the same respect you pay others because they deserve it and so much more. I am truly blessed to have met them, and I speak for all of us when I say THANK YOU!! For the music, the laughter, the stories, and patience for all our questions. Now for those that barage them with stupidity, no offence, take a step back, reread the post, until it makes sense to you, and then comment.

By doing this you gain clarity
into what is truly being said, and what they mean.
Mona Doucette now has a few
words she'd like to say ,I grew up in the 70's and 80's,
music, especially Canadian music
was really important to me.I might not have had the most
recent tapes from anyone, but
when a HMS song came on, I recorded it, off the radio.
I still have a cassette or two from those
days. I became friends
with Christine and she brought
me joy, the way she speaks, and her passion
are second to none.
Music is a big part of us. It
helps us get through a bad day, remember a good moment.
I've sang along (badly) but
still I'm being honest, to most of their music. I've never met them,
but as an admin, I still give
them the kudos, and alot of respect. I value their music, and I
value
each of them as individuals
With
that being said , as admins of the group we are loyal HMS Fans, who stand by
what
we
say, and stand behind guys who give us the gift of their music.
